Kirstin Maldonado is a 24-year-old singer from Fort Worth, Texas. She has always been extremely passionate about music, and she performed constantly while growing up in Arlington, Texas. Kirstin went to the University of Oklahoma to major in Musical Theater, but she dropped out of school to join Pentatonix, which was obviously a very wise decision.

Pentatonix formed in 2011 to participate in NBC’s a capella competition The Sing-Off. The five-member group quickly jelled, and they ended up winning the third season of the show. After being crowned The Sing-Off champions, Pentatonix signed a deal with Madison Gate Records. They released their debut EP PTX, Volume 1 on June 26, 2012, which would peak at #14 on the US Billboard 200.

The group would release three EPs with Madison Gate Records, and then in May of 2014, they made the jump to RCA Records. This is when their fame really skyrocketed, as their music found a broader audience. As of this writing, Pentatonix has released a total of four studio albums and five EPs, with their most popular project being That’s Christmas to Me. The album was released on October 21, 2014, and it went on to go double platinum in the United States.

Pentatonix’ unique style of covers has also been well-received by critics, as they have won three Grammy Awards. They won twice in the Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category for “Daft Punk” (2015) and “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” (2016) and once in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for “Jolene” with Dolly Parton (2017).

Kirstin is enjoying immense amounts of success with Pentatonix, and I sincerely hope that the group has plenty more good times ahead. I would think that as long as Pentatonix keeps making hits, Kirstin will keep posting amazing pictures to Instagram. Check out some of her hottest photos in the gallery above.
